Acts 17:6-7
"They dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city
authorities, shouting, 'These men who have turned the world upside down
have come here also, and Jason has received them, and they are all acting
against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.'
"
"Christianity" and "Anarchism"
have both often been the sources of a lot of stigma in their own respective
rights. Is it possible that in exploring the political dimension of the
spiritual Gospel, the faith of Christianity and the modern political theory
of Anarchism can dialogue with each other? And if such is the case, what
are the implications of peacemaking toward a world ravaged by war, greed,
capitalism, and Empire?
This gathering is open to people of all backgrounds, whether Christians,
Anarchists, neither, or both. In previous years we've been delegates of all
denominations and none. Humanists, Evangelicals, Catholics, Quakers, and
many others come together to meet, learn from one another and produce a
fascinating weekend.
The third annual conference exploring the relationship
between Christianity and Anarchism will be held by the good people of Christ Church
Pitsmoor, 257 Pitsmoor Road, Sheffield S3 9AQ.
The timetable of events will be constructed as planning progresses, until then
a list of confirmed events and facilitators may be found by following the
links.
Anyone wishing to be involved in the
planning and deliberating of this conference are invited to subscribe to this mailing list, and if you wish to confirm a
booking for this weekend then please do so through adam.dickson@gmail.com.
